CPR Firsts produced their best performance of the season to date this past Sunday to hand NYAC their first loss and cap a great day for The Whites, following on from the Reserves fine victory earlier that morning.  The hosts' impressive 'country club' surroundings, matched by an equally exquisite autumnal day, set the stage for a 3-2 victory and a colossal team performance capped by man-of-the-match-hat-trick-hero Yannick.

From the first whistle CPR produced an intensity that hurried the home team, rarely allowing NYAC the space and time to move the ball across the pitch in their usual fashion.  Indeed it was from such 'harrying' inside the opposing half that both first half goals came for Yannick, with the midfield winning possession before moving the ball forward with precision.  There was still much for Yannick to do however on each occasion, with the first coming from a delightful curling shot just inside the penalty area, and the second when controlling and finishing clinically after being found with a fine pass from fellow striker Caesar.  As the half wore on NYAC were able to re-group somewhat and show glimpses of why they are regarded with such respect throughout the league, though on each occasion either the White defending was up to the task, with full-back Pat making a couple of heroic last ditch stops and keeper Ben R more than once producing fine saves.

CPR where unable to maintain that same intensity from the onset of the second half, and for the first time in the game NYAC where moving the ball well and dictating play.  However, following this fifteen minute onslaught whereby the home team where unable to show anything for their pressure, the Whites began to reassert themselves somewhat and once again begin to move the ball, maintain possession and pose threats of their own.  It was a little by surprise then that NYAC snatched a goal back from a free kick and the game looked to be wide open.  A lesser team may have folded at this point, but true CPR 'metal' was shown and then rewarded when Yannick continued to chase a through ball that he was second best to reach.  The big striker pounced on momentary indecision between the home keeper and defender to touch the ball beyond them both and slot home into an empty net.  More chances where created by the away team as their superiority began to show and the game appeared to be heading for a comfortable away win, though there was late scare when NYAC pulled a goal back with minutes remaining.
