I still don't know what brings me more pleasurable, the thrill of victory or the humor I receive from reading Manny's match reports after a loss. I guess they are both another reason to keep my hamstring healthy and look forward to next season.

I would have loved to play this game. I did drag my butt out of bed, stand in the rain for a ride, and get out there at 9:30am afterall. And at 10am it was dry and in the low 50's, and we had a pretty solid 15 guys in uniform and starting line-up on the field and ready to go. Surely we'd have beaten a squad of 7-8 guys by much more than the 2-0 default forfeit scoreline. Was unfortunate they couldn't get a minimal squad out, and even more so that their manager kept making ridiculous arguments. He should have vented at his slow moving guys on sideline and via phone to those in their cars (if their were any) instead of at us. Simple fact was that at 10:15, 10:20, 10:30, and even later, they never did have 7 guys in uniform on or near the field, and their manager thru all his whining never seemed tell us, or more importantly the referee, definitively what their ETA to have have 7 guys ready was. Even the 4-5 guys who did make it to the pitch didn't really show any urgency to get ready even at 10:15 or later... Big credit to the one Westchester FC player that stuck around and played pick-up game with CPR until the rain started coming down at 11:20.
