late game, strained hammies, one sub, 5am bedtime, twisted ankle. 1-0 Scala. :(

Jo did a great job tending goal. Heather (2), Ryan (2), and Alex (3), Lisa (5?!), did a great job being flexible and playing a number of positions.

CAT ROCKED THE HOUSE...MEEEEEOW! Seriously, not only did she track down her player always, anticipating, intercepting, defending, but she made great runs up the field and opening up opportunities for our offense. Great job! Keep up the good work. Hmmm...maybe I will be Kat for Halloween.

CPR Annual Halloween Party!

It's about that time of year for the CPR Annual Halloween Party. It gives us the chance to fulfil our secret fantasies of being Jane Fonda, Katie Perry, or Urkle from Family Matters. We always have a blast... showcasing some of the most dashing and unique ensembles of the event. As usual there will be a costume contest and drink specials. There will be a $10 entry fee... raising money for our club. Please invite other halves, friends, etc. The more the merrier. What a game! No one collapsed after playing the the 90 degree the day before. We hit the post 3 times in one game (twice in one play, right?). Al capitalized on the goalie coming off of her long and Kaitlin did something awesome to get the other goal. The other team's goalie battled Bridget's "Keeeeeeeper" with a blood-curdling scream. Sam came back!! And Gale kicked some serious booty on the back line.

Kaitlin, Al, Heather, Gayle and Sam represented at Central Bar.

All in all, a great Sunday.

UPDATE: Ryan also took one for the team...on the left-eye. Ryan are you OK?!

Ladies, nice job on the win! What a great way to start the season. A special shout out to the defense. You guys did a stellar job back there. Jo kicked ass with her Tony Meola saves. Kaitlin gave us the win when she scored on a free kick. Though it must be noted that the key player to the win was Sara Lappen. Her distracting moves and spread eagle legs allowed Kaitlin's shot to go in. Al rocked, as always, playing center mid for Kaitlin because her legs were a wee bit tired after running 17 miles on Saturday (!!!!).

Most importantly, we set the bar high this season with 6 people attending the post-game celebration at the Central Bar.

Fall 2010 Season

Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a great summer! I am excited to starting playing soccer with y'all again. We have had a few changes to the lineup and I think we are going to have a great (and fun!) team this season. A few things (especially for the newbees):

1. QUESTIONS: If you ever have a question about CPR, please contact Catherine (Gump) Pacilio (CAP77FC@aol.com), Kaitlin Dufton (kaitlin.dufton@gmail.com), or Katie Ruddy (kruddy@gmail.com).

2. GAMES: We play every Sunday from now through the middle of December (see attached schedule). We realize that everyone will miss a game or two, but please try not to miss more than that. We will send out an evite at the beginning of the week. Please respond as soon as you can so that we have an idea of how many players we will have.

3. PRACTICE: We practice every Tuesday at JJ Walker from 7-9pm (Clarkson St. and Hudson st.). Look out for a weekly evite for these as well.

This week’s game is at the 6th street turf field at 1pm. Lets meet by 12:30pm so that we can complete the roster, talk to the ref, and hey, maybe even get a touch on the ball.

First of all, I want to assure those who follow us via the web (I mean there has to be at least on person, right?!) that we are playing this season and that Lisa is alive and well. Since Lisa stepped down from her game recap writing position our blog has been pretty pathetic. I am sorry, fans. I am sorry, team. I am sorry, Lisa. While there is no way to replicate what our own little Ms. Safire did in the past, I will promise to post at least the scores of our games in a timely manner...uh, starting this coming weekend of course.

Lisa, thank you for your wit and words. We are so happy you still have time to play with us. Good luck on your midterms.

Practice Starting Soon!

Hey ladies,

Welcome to our new and improved club website! It is about that time of year to get back into the swing of things again. Our team is starting practices at JJ Walker Field on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. Practice will continue every Tuesday throughout the season. Your team managers understand the busy work schedule of a New Yorker, but if you are not working late or free on a Tuesday please try and make it to practice. It makes the practices so much more worthwhile if we have good numbers present. Wouldn't you rather get a workout playing soccer than running on a treadmill?

We also will be having a team registration pizza gathering on Wednesday, September 9th. More details will come in an evite from Kaitlin. Please save the date!

DIRECTIONS TO JJ WALKER

BY SUBWAY:

Take the West side number # 1 (red line) train to Houston Street.

Exit station and walk north for approximately 2 blocks to Clarkson Street.

Walk west on Clarkson to Hudson Street.

Field is on the corner of Hudson and Clarkson.
